DHCH workshop on Digital Transformation

Updated: Feb 12, 2025

The DHCH initiative provides a network to discuss the rich aspects of Digital Humanities, open up the perspective to the wide horizon of digital practices and support digital humanities approaches in arts and cultural heritage.

The DHCH initiative has the pleasure to announce its 2024 workshop: How to design the digital future in culture, which will take place during 5th - 7th of June 2024 at Istituto Svizzero in Rome. The workshop is organised in the accompaniment of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Sinergia Project “Participatory Knowledge Practices in Analogue and Digital Image Archives” (PIA) by the Digital Humanities Lab of the University of Basel, the Institute of Design Research of the School of Applied Science in Bern and the Istituto Svizzero di Roma, ISR.

The workshop focuses on relevant and sustainable changes in/within digital transformations be it for infrastructures, projects or mediation with and for arts and culture. We delve into the world of art and cultural assets, which are often very much alive in the non-digital space, and pursue the methods that continue to weave the web of various artifacts, perspectives, and approaches in the digital realm.

The programme will offer:

  • presentations by PIA members

  • lightning talks by PhDs, researchers, workers

  • keynote by DARIAH-CH

  • keynote by DARIAH-IT

  • keynote talk by PIA

  • keynote talks by Museo Della Civiltà, Bibliotheca Hertziana, BAK / Pro Helvetia

  • keynote talk by Staffan Ahrenberg (Cahiers d’Art)

The DHCH workshop on Digital Transformation highlights how organizations are rethinking processes, technology adoption, and customer engagement in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Such initiatives emphasize the importance of aligning innovation with clear business goals and leadership vision. These ideas are often explored in a digital transformation strategy seminar & course for executives in Zurich, Switzerland, where professionals focus on building structured approaches to successful digital change.
