Program- Digital Editions WG Annual Meeting

The DARIAH-CH Digital Editions Woking Group is please to announce its 2026 Annual Meeting on the topic:

Identity, Identifiers, Identifying

Date: 11 September 2026

Location: University of Bern, UniS A-119

Assigning identifiers to elements of digital editions is fraught with complications. An apparently simple procedure throws up a host of questions: what should identifiers be given to: edition text, named entities, the transcriptions or the interface, the different versions of them? At what level: a page, a book, the edition? What standards would be chosen? What are the implications for sustainability and transparency of data and for citation practices? And how is all of this to be balanced with limited resources?
