Introduction
In the framework of the DARIAH-CH GLAM Working Group, the Swiss National Data and Service Center for the Humanities (DaSCH) organised its DaSCHCon2025 on the topic of Cultural Institutions in the Digital Age: The Future of Infrastructures with support and sponsoring of the Museum of Communication in Bern and Wikimedia CH.
When: October 15th, 2025 (10:00–16:30)
Where: Museum of Communication (Helvetiastrasse 16, 3000 Bern) and online
The morning and the early afternoon session were dedicated to the presentation of three invited contributions and of eleven contributions which had been submitted and accepted. The later afternoon session, a workshop, took place exclusively on-site. The workshop started with three very short presentations about what is going on in cultural institutions with respect to infrastructure and what is intended in the near future.
Then the presentation of the following three subgroups of the workshop followed:
User survey “SKKG Sammlung digital”: 3 Takeaways
Digital and analogue interfaces for art creation infrastructures on wiki
Digital Infrastructure – Tackling Challenges Together and Leveraging Synergies
This workshop format was intended as an open discussion and exchange and transfer of knowledge between the participants. Ideally, pooling and sowing the seed for further collaborations should happen, as well as the cocreation of project ideas and structures.
The programme, the abstract booklet, the slides and the recordings of the presentations, as well as a summary of the results of the workshop are openly available on the DaSCH Service Platform.
