The Swiss National Data and Service Center for the Humanities (DaSCH) is Switzerland's national research data infrastructure for the humanities and is affiliated with the University of Basel. DaSCH supports researchers in the sustainable preparation, preservation, and dissemination of research data.
To strengthen the team, DaSCH is looking for an engaged and creative professional who will foster exchange with scholarly communities, enhance the visibility of DaSCH, and strengthen connections between research, practice, and the wider public.
The position
Develop and implement outreach and community engagement activities for national and international scholarly communities
Build, maintain, and coordinate relationships with partner institutions, research networks, and stakeholders
Support the acquisition and management of externally funded projects
Organise and deliver events, workshops, and presentations at universities and research institutions across Switzerland and beyond
Create engaging, audience-focused content for websites, newsletters, social media, and other communication channels
Further develop the social media presence of DaSCH and DARIAH-CH at both strategic and operational levels
Work closely with the DaSCH leadership team as well as national and international partners
The profile
Essential Qualifications and Experience
PhD or equivalent academic qualification in the humanities, theology, law, economics, marketing, communications, journalism, cultural management, media management, or a related field
At least three years of professional experience in communications, outreach, community management, or a comparable role
Excellent written and spoken German, English, and French
Demonstrated experience in writing, editing, and storytelling for diverse audiences
Experience with content management systems and digital communication and social media platforms
Experience with graphic design, video production, or AI-supported communication tools
Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for engaging with diverse communities and stakeholder groups
Proven track record of integrating agentic AI tools and LLMs into daily workflows to automate complex tasks and accelerate delivery
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge of the Swiss and European research and science landscape
Experience in grant writing and the acquisition of third-party funding
